I’m James Hope, an established Television Producer and Award Winning Editor.
I’m based in the beautiful South Wairarapa region of New Zealand, just an hour drive from Wellington City where some of the world’s best film and television has come to life.
My current affairs and documentary work focuses on authentic character-driven stories, often highlighting environmental and regional issues across Aotearoa.
My work (and face) regularly appear on the streaming platform TVNZ+ and the much loved broadcast television show Seven Sharp.
As a filmmaker I was recipient of the 48+ Screenwriting Development Fund, and since then I’ve written & produced several short films. Currently I’m developing a premium scripted drama series titled ‘Black Creek’ set on the West Coast of New Zealand, focused on a realistic portrayal of the country’s coal mining history.
